While a vocalist reads Google’s “Terms of Services”, a keyboardist employs granulation techniques, filtering, LPC, and channel-vocoder effects to highlight, humorize, or obfuscate the text. In dramatizing the text in various ways, the piece draws attention to the contradiction between its light and conversational tone and the underlying message as it relates to digital ownership and privacy.
